PiezoSon100plus1The PiezoSon 100 plus is a small, powerful desktop unit for extracorporeal shockwave applications to treat all orthopedic ESWT and TPST indications. At the unit’s core is the compact Wolf piezo shockwave source with its dual layer technology; this has made it possible to design a small and ergonomic unit offering an outstanding performance. The unit is simple to operate with a multifunctional operating panel and display on the front of the unit. All important parameters can be precisely adjusted and monitored.

Gel-filled therapy sources of varying shapes and sizes are adjusted using a multi-connector. The penetration depth of the applications can be varied by using gel pads of different thicknesses for the gel-filled waterless therapy sources. New, acoustically adapted gels allow the focused shockwaves to be adjusted without a water-filled coupling membrane. All adjustable shockwave therapy sources of the PiezoSon 100 plus have been designed to include the new dual-layer technology.

PiezoSon100plus2A further advantage is the energy coupling over a large area with aperture angles ranging from 90° to 108°. This lowers the energy density on the skin surface, resulting in a significant reduction of pain – particularly important when the penetration depth is limited. Moreover the large aperture creates a precise focal zone for targeted applications with maximum protection of surrounding areas. There is a choice of low, medium or high-energy applications, depending on the indication. 20 intensity levels in the lower energy range allow a fine adjustment of energy levels so that sedation or anesthesia is not required during treatment.

FB7G2The FB 7 G2 therapy source was designed especially for indications close to the surface in sports medicine. It combines optimal handling with excellent visibility of the area being treated.

FB10G4The FB 10 G4 therapy source can be used for all standard indications in orthopedic ESWT.

FB12G5The FB 12 G5 therapy source provides the highest energy levels and was designed for special indications requiring the greatest depth of penetration, e.g. for the treatment of pseudoarthrosis and deep trigger points.

Indications for ESWT:

· Treatment of the patellar tendon attachment (patella tip syndrome)
· Treatment of the plantar fascia in plantar fasciitis with calcaneal spurs
· Soft tissue treatment at the rotator cuff of the shoulder with and without calcification deposits (tendinosis calcarea)
· Tennis and golfer’s elbow (epicondylitis humeri radialis and ulnaris)
· Penile induration (Peyronie’s disease)

Indications for TPST:

The PiezoSon 100 plus of Richard Wolf uniquely combines and expands orthopedic ESWT applications with TPST applications. This represents a significant expansion of the range of possible applications by including the wide area of myofascial pain syndromes.


The extracorporeal focused shockwave can be used both for the therapy and for the precise localization of active and latent trigger points. The trigger point is activated by the small focus points of the PiezoSon 100 plus. This allows a precise localization without palpation, a benefit as palpation is often painful for patients. The variable penetration depth of the focused shockwave with a depth of up to 55 mm allows deep-seated trigger points to be successfully located and precisely treated. The system is the first transportable, focused shockwave unit for TPST. All orthopedic trigger therapies can be successfully carried out with precise targeting of the triggers using the PiezoSon 100 plus.
